Our Mission

One House, Inc believes America’s heroes should never be forgotten. Our mission is to honor veterans by providing supportive programs to service members, veterans, and their families. These dynamic programs focus on community reengagement, resource networking, and health and wellness.

We act as a direct channel in connecting veteran needs and demands for resources through individuals, groups, and organizations working interdependently with the service members, veterans, and their families to provide a better quality of life. We believe an effective transition happens by reestablishing faith, hope, and love.

Our Inspiration

Established in 2019, One House founder, Marqueis Neely, a military veteran, prior police officer, and educator, witnessed many pitfalls for service members, veterans, and military families living in a rural area. Marqueis shared the same concern as many others in the Blackbelt area, in that public planners in rural areas share limited views of the struggle of service members and veterans. In turn, limiting their ability to service veterans and their families in need. Therefore, Marqueis was prompted to establish One House, Inc to broaden the opportunities for assistance for service members, veterans and their families.

One House, Inc. serves as an advocate for service members, veterans, and their families for external resources, realizing that many are unlikely to have easy access to a variety of offerings and outreach efforts would be too great.

Our Vision

The vision came without effort. It is to create a multifunctional space in the heart of Selma, the Queen City, that was unique and boldly purposeful. The vision is also to create a co-working space for a community of opportunity, inspiration, and progression. It is a vision of a space where all service members, veterans, their families, and the network of needed resources come together in one place to service those who have and are serving our country. This place is One House, Inc.
